Gettin’ Ready for the Fourth

I was talking with my boss yesterday about how it just doesn’t seem right that the 4th of July is in the middle of the week this year. You can’t go out of town for a three-day weekend. There’s not a lot of time to prep anything fun because you’re working Monday and Tuesday. You can’t go someplace far away because you still have 4 weekdays worth of work. And worst of all, you can’t party hard because of work the next day. Or … can you?

My lovely bestest (paleo)pal Ryan posted something today that will help you survive the Humpday Holiday. Thanks to the good people at AsapSCIENCE, you’ll know just what kinds of food to eat, drinks to shun, and breakfast to have in order to avoid a hangover in the most scientifically accurate way possible. Or if you’re a non-drinker, you can sagely impart your new knowledge to the rest of your friends, for which they’ll probably revere you.

You probably knew most of this advice on some level. It’s just common sense to drink lots of water before, during and after drinking other, more entertaining fluids. But now you know the whys and the wherefores behind the reasoning. You’ve been scienced. You’re welcome.

Now, if only AsapSCIENCE would post a video on capsaicin for those of us planning to go to the Music City Hot Chicken Festival tomorrow…
